The beginning

These are very exciting times. My new album "Eclectro" is complete and the process is in full swing.  In the weeks leading up the June 20th release I will have contacted hundreds of newspapers, blogs, magazines & radio stations. I will have wrangled with iTunes in attempt to be a featured artist and not buried anonymously in the place where even great albums go to suffer a slow and painful death. I will have pounded social media to a point where even my family and friends begin to ignore my posts.  Why would anyone do this?  Is it about validation? Is there a snowballs chance that I can somehow sneak on some fringe Billboard chart?  Maybe there is a hint of vanity. Maybe it's just an attempt to leave some sort of legacy.  I don't know.

The sole reason I held a belief that"Eclectro" could have any sort of relevancy was because of the work of two people. On a whim, I emailed a copy of a song I was working on to Italian astrophysicist Dr. Fiorella Terenzi.  To my surprise, Dr. Terenzi replied saying how much she enjoyed it and asked if she could become involved.  If it where any old astrophysicist it wouldn't have been a big deal but this was THE astrophysicist. Dr. Terenzi pioneered acoustic astronomy with her critically acclaimed Island Records release "Music From The Galaxies". Now I was on to something. As a foundation for my album, I had the guest vocal of one of the coolest cats in the history of hip!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Around the same time I received a message from someone saying they had come across one of my songs on Toronto's radio Coolio and liked my work. Looking at her profile, I saw that she had recently released an album.  That album was "Sleepwalker" and she was English chilled trip-hop artist Stoneygate. A few messages later and Stoneygate was on board.  The importance of this was she pushed me harder than I would have otherwise worked and added a completely different element to the lead song on Eclectro titled "Run". Thank you J!                                                                                                                                                                                               In just a short amount of time, Eclectro will be debuted to the world on PSU's 90.7 The Lion on the Altered State show with Tim Kai. Yes, these are very exciting times.
